Currently, several studies examining the use of CIT in the acute rehabilitation setting are ongoing. Although initial results are promising, all authors have stated larger studies need to be completed. Grotta, et al. conclude "it imposes substantial demands both on therapists and the resources of a rehabilitation unit. Furthermore, CIT (CIMT) probably has limited effect and may not be cost-effective." (23) Page, et al. contradict this last statement by stating, "Data presented herein suggest that CIT is a feasible and efficacious strategy for affected limb use and function in acute CVA.
