The gentamicin release was measured photometrically by UVspectroscopy.
The tests were performed in duplicate and the
results were recorded as an average. A cube with the edge of
∼5 mm was cutfrom the middle ofthe gelform, with the weight
of 0.1371 g (and 0.1412 g, respectively). The cube was immersed
in a baker with 10 mL aqueous phosphate buffer saline (PBS) –
pH = 7.4 at 37 ◦C. The baker was kept under magnetic stirring
at 37 ◦C. The samples were drawn at predetermined time intervals.
The solution was analyzed for gentamicin content using
UV–vis spectrophotometer. Derivatization was done with ophthaldialdehyde,
