3.1. Total phenolics content
All crude extracts such as hexane, ethyl acetate, chloroform,
butanol, methanol and water crude extracts from the stems of neem
were used for the determination of the total phenol contents by
using FCR[13]. The result showed that the highest amount of the
total phenols in the stem crude extracts was in ethyl acetate and the
lowest was in hexane. The order was ethyl acetate > chloroform >
butanol > methanol > hexane. The gallic acid was used as a standard
calibration curve (Figure 1).
