Mercedes-Benz vehicles are equipped with a brake sensor embedded in the brake pad that notifies clients when the brake pads are in need of replacement. All vehicles from 1990 have brake sensors on the front brakes and brake sensors are included on the rear of the vehicle on some 2000 and newer models.
It is important to note that, brake pad wear varies from model to model and often brake pad wear is more significant on vehicles operating metropolitan environments. As to be expected, in city driving where the brakes are used much more frequently brake pad wear is much more severe.
Regular servicing of your vehicle at the proper service intervals affords the best opportunity to get an accurate assessment of your brake pad condition. Regular brake inspections and maintenance provides your vehicle with a brake system that operates at peak performance and could decrease stopping distances.
