3. Results and analysis
Green roofs have thermal benefits on three major aspects, including indoor thermal environment,
local microclimate of roof as well as waterproof materials of roof. Hence, indoor air temperatures, local air temperatures above the roofs and outer surface temperatures of the panels are
compared between green roof and common roof in this section, and the heat flux through both roofs
are also presented. Field measurement includes data of free- floating and air-conditioned conditions
under different weather situations. Then thermal performance and energy balance of green roof,
which change dynamically with indoor temperature and out- door weather, are analyzed. And Pearson’s
correlation analysis is performed to identify the relationship between different factors
and the thermal performance of green roof.
