Tapirus kabomani or Little Black Tapir is one of five species of living tapir. It is the smallest tapir species, smaller even than the Mountain Tapir. Tapirus kabomani is found in the Amazon rainforest, where it appears to be sympatric with the Brazilian tapir, T. terrestris. Tapirus kabomani was the first new perissodactyl species in over 100 years when it was announced in 2013.
