The finding that facilitators reported some hesitancy to act during conflict situations should give pause to everyone who works with and on teams. As was discussed in this article, waiting and hoping that conflict resolves itself is rarely a good idea. Facilitators and leaders might benefit from examining individual predispositions in conflicts. Questions include: do I wait too long; do I, conversely, jump in and assume conflict where none exists; do I assume that my own learned and preferred conflict behaviors will work for all groups?
