The next category was reason for satisfaction.
The author found three subcategories
for the reason for satisfaction
among the future teachers from the survey
questionnaire. They were: fun activity, connecting
mathematics with hands-on activities,
and use of hands-on activities (Figure
9). The ratio is 8:6:4. About 33% of future
teachers were satisfied due to the connection
of the abstract mathematics with the handson
activities, and about 44% of the future
teachers were satisfied as they perceived the
service-learning activity as a fun activity, different from a classroom experience. Out
of eight who were highly satisfied, 37.5% of
them were highly satisfied because of the
connection of mathematics with hands-on
activities; 25% of them were highly satisfied
because of the use of crafts; and the rest
were satisfied because it represented a fun
activity outside the classroom setting.
