Dear Terence
Payment by cheque is common in Thailand. Payment by cash in large amount in stead is not common except there is some certain conditions specified, for example, greater discount than other payment method.
We will withdraw the money from the company account. Please let me know who we have to remit the above mentioned money to. Please be reminded that CNIT only has current or cheque account, therefore, we have to withdraw the money from the company cheque only or we have to write the cheque payment by account payee only. Please advice.
In addition, you said that this payment was for the apartment management company. Tax wise, if the payment is done by the company and the tax invoice or official receipt is issued under the company name from the land lord, such payment can be considered as company expense and the company must withhold 5% of the rental amount from the land lord. However, this payment must be part of the company beneficial employee(s) income as well. For this case, please let us know who will stay at that apartment, Thai management? But if the management is from abroad, it would be difficult to calculate such income. We will discuss this matter with the tax authority for clarification and will let you know shortly after.
Best regards,
