Lipophilicity of compounds plays a vital role in studying the
biological activity of a compound. Permeability of the compounds
across the cell membranes plays an important role in most of the
drug disposition processes, and hence there is high correlation with
measures of lipophilicity. The SAR around the 2-position of the
imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine ring was studied in detail (Fig. 1).
