Then, two kinds of video streaming sources to simulate e-
SNG are used at sender to further validate the LNR
performance. One uses software H.264 encoder via
VideoLAN VLC with version 0.9.8a. The other uses H.264
hardware encoder. As shown in Figure 7, the receiver and
sender simulate WiTV and e-SNG respectively. They are
located in same site B1 of TV station headend, but they are
applied in different VLANs to monitor performance results in
convenience. Besides, the sender will send multicast video
streams from VLAN 1 to the repeater site R1 of backbone site
B10. These multicast video packets arrive at VLAN 1 of R1
will be forwarded to VLAN 2 as shown in Figure 7. Then the
receiver at VLAN 2 of B1 can have the multicast video
packets to playback. Both at sender and receiver, the network
protocol analyzer of Wireshark with version 1.0.5 is used to
monitor and record the multicast video packets via RTP (Realtime
Transport Protocol).
