there are three important about consonant sound in English.
1. Point of articulation (where a consonant sound is uttered). This is a point in the mouth(oral cavity) touched by the tongue when a consonant sound is produced. Starting from outside,we have two lips(bilabial position),the alveolar ridge (the part just behind the upper teeth),the palate (the roof of the mouth), and the velum. The two lips, for example, are the point where the consonant sound /p/ and /b/ are produced,as well as the sound /m/ through the nasal cavity. It should be interesting to identify all the English consonant sound at the different points of articulation.
