we cannot simply talk about transnational movements, but need to recognize
movement that is facilitated by regional citizenships of the European Union, or of
migrant movements within national boundaries or urban spaces. Such a range of
mobilities reflect the varieties of experiences and perceptions from wide-ranging
positionalities, and demonstrate how they aid the construction and contestation of
‘authentic’ identities, and the formation of a number of hybridized and creolized
identities around race, ethnicity, religion, and nationality, which are continuously
negotiated in different spaces, places, and locations
