Sensing With Encoders To create rotary and linear encoders we use an IR emitter-receiver pair mechanically mounted on
either side of a rotary shaft/linear rail. A 3D printed mask pattern is embedded into the rotary shaft/linear rail to produce
signal changes. The mask pattern is created with embedded support material so that a distinctive change in light
