By skipping meals you are reducing the levels of energy you have in your body, slowing down your metabolism and hurting your body by not giving it enough nutrients.
Humans eat for a reason, to give us energy, to help our body function and to be healthy.
If you want to lose weight, just reduce calorie intake, not meals. If you want a lighter meal just remove a part of it, have smaller portions or just have a light snack.
I'd recommend just reducing all of your meals a tiny bit rather than a bigger part of one meal. If you reduce one meal a lot, it makes you think you haven't eaten enough, then you go back for more... I've had this experience.
