For someone who doesn't play video games as a hobby, video games may be seen as 'Call of Duty, Call of Duty, Call of Duty'. However, there are many types of video game, so you cannot base your opinion on shooters. Yes, FPS games exist. Yes, they are popular. But there are other games as well. Think about RPGs or Role Playing Games. These games are essentially interactive films, so the content children are exposed to be nothing worse than a film with the same rating. Then there are plat formers, like Mario and Crash Bandicoot. These involve little more than jumping on platforms. There are puzzle games, like Portal. These are tests of intellect, in video game form. Can we assume that they are all the same, especially without playing them?
