Biochemical and Bioprocess Engineering
The activities address a broad range of critical issues in the microbial and animal cell biotechnology, food and agro-industrial process and the theoretical investigations of transport phenomena, microbial growth kinetics at microscopic and macroscopic levels underlying the processes. Research involves both fundamental and applied research in many areas of engineering, including fluid mechanics, mass transfer, kinetics, reactor design, thermodynamics and surface science.
