Additional data on the distribution and size range of Uca in Hong Kong were
collected from other beaches. On the middle shore at a site (Ting Kok, see Fig. 1)
6 km northwest of Lok Wo Sha, a population of U. lactea lactea exists in the absence
of U. vocans borealis. At another site (Tai Tam, see Fig. 1) 21 km south of Lok Wo Sha,
populations of U. vocans borealis and U. lactea lactea coexist. Specimens of male Uca
from these two sites were randomly collected at low tide, brought back to the laboratory,
and their carapace width measured.
