For a trip without unpleasant surprises, you had better learn about legal, health, and safety issues for the countries you’re visiting:these include visa requirements,recommendation for vaccinations, health conditions, and crime. Arrange your itinerary beforehand.
Packing
Travel light. Carry the minimum amount of valuables necessary for your trip, and plan a place or places to hide them. Avoid wearing flashy clothing or clothing that is so casual that it marks you as a tourist. Wear little or no jewelry, and take nothing you could not replace.
Documents, cash, and credit cards
These item are most secure when they are locked in a hotel safe. If you wish to carry them with you, conceal them in several places rather than putting them all in and outside pockets. One of the safest places to carry valuables is in a pouch or money belt that you wear underneath your clothing.
You should always photocopy important documents such as passports, visas, airline tickets, and credit cards. Keep copies at home, and take ones with you. As a precaution, don’t keep everything in the same place when traveling.
Baggage
Never leave baggage unattended. ldentify your luggage. Put your name, address, and telephone number inside and outside of each piece of luggage, using covered luggage tags.
