It is a condition of entry that competitors agree to BACARDÍ terms and conditions and legal disclaimer regarding their entry (which competitors can do in the Register Your Interest section). Without this consent we cannot accept entries.
1. Once entrants have registered their interest by submitting the form on the site, they will be contacted and requested by a member of the BACARDÍ team from their country, to provide the following details and any supporting information:
Full name and address, including postcode
Email address
Telephone number with country code
Bar name and address
Cocktail recipe
Method and garnish
Glassware
Inspiration
2. By participating in the competition, entrants assign to BACARDÍ Limited and its affiliated Companies to the full right to the cocktail name, recipe, inspiration, photography of cocktail and portrait, as well as the right of using the name and the images of the participant taken during the competition. The entrant will be accredited wherever possible.
3. All competitors must agree to comply with the BACARDÍ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Guidelines when choosing their cocktail name, presenting their promotional period and during all times they are representing BACARDÍ.
4. All cocktails must be inspired by BACARDÍ Carta Blanca rum or BACARDÍ Carta Oro Rum.
5. BACARDÍ Carta Blanca rum or BACARDÍ Carta Oro Rum must be the dominant spirit ingredient.
6. All cocktails should contain no other competitor rum brand.
7. All cocktails should contain no more than 3 units of alcohol. A unit of alcohol is defined as 10ml of alcohol at 100% abv. To calculate the number of units of any volume of spirit, multiply the volume of spirit in litres by the percentage of alcohol by volume.
e.g. 50ml of BACARDÍ Carta Blanca rum or BACARDÍ Carta Oro Rum = 0.05 x 37.5 = 1.875 units.
8. All cocktails should use commonly available ingredients. All ingredients must be available around the world.
9. Cocktails with house specific ingredients will not be eligible unless these are easily made and a full recipe is included. For example: Cardamon syrup or simple infusions and no more than 2 flavors per syrup or infusion. No home made bitters, shrubs, blends or rum infusions will be allowed.
10. At the Regional Heats, entrants will be required to make an original BACARDÍ rum Daiquirí only using BACARDÍ Carta Blanca rum, as well as their own cocktail creation.
11. All entrants must supply and be prepared to discuss and describe the inspiration behind their cocktail creation.
12. All cocktails should contain no more than 6 ingredients; this includes spritz or any garnish that could modify the flavor profile of the cocktail.
13. All competitors will need to present two of the same cocktails at the National Finals.
14. National Finalists are required to present a simple plan detailing how they plan to promote their cocktail during a “minimum” period of 3 months.
15. National Final winners must commit to a 10-month program in partnership with BACARDÍ to drive awareness, sales and popularity of their cocktail.
16. Only one entry per person is permitted.
17. BACARDÍ Ltd employees or associated companies and personnel are not eligible to enter.
18. All prizes are non interchangeable and there is no cash alternative.
19. Entrants must be of legal drinking age within the country they reside. All entrants must be over the age of 21 on arrival in the US for the finals on 19th April 2016.
20. Participation confirms acceptance of these terms and conditions and of the Legal Disclaimer.
