For the analysis of categorical variables (proportion of
patients discontinuing because of lack of glycaemic control
and proportion of patients achieving weight reduction≥5%),
adjusted proportions and 95% CIs were estimated using the
methodology reported by Zhang et al. [20], with adjustment for
baseline value. Patients with missing data were considered as
non-responders and were therefore included in these analyses.
