I firmly believe that the pollution and environmental conditions in Bangkok have worsened dramatically over the past four years. I've lived in Bangkok, in a high-rise 5 year old condo near the river, for four years. Prior to that I lived in the USA. During my time in Bangkok I've had stomach distress, probably from food, ice or water, six times. In the States I had this problem once in twenty years. Here in Thailand I've had respiratory distress and illnesses, such as flu symptoms, at least a dozen times. In America I had maybe two slight colds in twenty years. Yes, I am growing older each year but I have no immune systems diseases and I'm in good health, except for the stomach and respiratory distress that is becoming worrisome and intolerable. I'm researching the best places in the world to live, and planning resources to relocate. Sad, as I love many things about Thailand. I recommend not living in Thailand if you don't have to and if you do research outdoor and interior air conditions where you will live and work. With the high temperatures you will spend most of your time in-doors and air-conditioners here do little to nothing as air filters. And stick to no street food, only cooked vegetables (not raw), bottled water and no ice unless you know the place. To make matters worse the political situation here creates more unprocessed garbage, pollution and frustration.
