Attached are details for updates to the glue jigs for 668AC001 STD NGC Door (jig number 4000-037) and 668AC003 NP300 Nissan door (jig number 4000-079), for pressing the hinges on flat.
Venkat put the presentation together to explain how we intend to modify the fixtures.
We will be sending these parts to you on air freight next week, as this involves a number of nylon parts.
It is very important to place the glued glass calibration master samples in the jigs that you already have there, to align the new swing in arms of the glue jigs to ensure these are positioned and registered in the correct locations to parts that are glued onto the master samples .Getting the hinge position wrong would have a huge effect on how the doors are fitted and striker alignment so please be very careful about this process.
I understand there are now some concerns on the force required to press the hinges during the gluing process, in as much as the force is too high for operators. Is this correct?
If it is, then we need to look at the setup of the glue jigs tables but will need you guidance on dimensions and space required to set up over the top of the glue jig spinning tables, some sort of pneumatic or pressing jig linkage arms, to press down on the box section pressing jigs to push the hinges flat while being applied to the glass with glue. To be honest this may be best handled with Jim Backhouse there to develop a way of how to set this up.
