If that's all the help your going to be, then you can just leave!" Kaka yelled.
"You know what your problem is? You take too many things for granted. Take this labyrinth for example. Even if you get to the center, you'll never get out again!" Krillin walked past Kaka and slammed the door behind him.
Kaka walked down the left side of the path. He stepped over broken limbs and stumps, dodged vines and twigs. His paced began to speed up. "What does he mean, labyrinth? There's no turns or anything. It just goes on and on in a straight line!" He leaned against the wall with a sigh.
"Wait. . ." Kaka said. "Maybe it doesn't. Maybe I'm just taking it for granted that it does." He started to run. He jumped over a pile of old bricks, ducked under a branch, and nearly tripped over a root. "Man!" He yelled. He stopped and sat down, feeling very frustrated. "D*mb it!"
"Ello," A tiny voice said.
Kaka looked behind him to find a small, blue worm. ". . . Did you just say hello?"
"No. I said, 'Ello!' But that's close enough."
"Are you a worm?"
"that's right!"
"Do you know the way through the labyrinth?" Kaka asked.
"Me? Nah. Just a worm." The worm said. "Would you like to come inside and meet the misses?"
"No thank you. I have to get to the castle at the center of this thing. But there are no turns or anything."
"Sure there are, the labyrinth's full of them, it's just that you ain't seeing them."
"Really? Where are they?" Kaka asked the worm.
"There's one just across there, its right in front of you." The worm said.
Kaka looked at the wall in front of him; scanning it from top to bottom "No there isn't."
"Come inside and have a nice cup of tea!" The worm beamed.
"But there isn't an opening."
The worm laughed. "Sure there is! Try walking through it, you'll see!"
"What?" Kaka asked confused.
"Go on then!"
Kaka stared at the wall. "But, it's a solid wall. There's no way through, unless you break it."
"Things aren't always what they seem here. You can never take anything for granted."
Kaka stood up and crepted toward the wall. He put his hands out in front of him incase the worm was wrong, but walked right through. "Hey! You were right." He started to the left.
"Wait!" The worn yelled.
Kaka came back to the opening "Thanks, that was really helpful!" He walked to the left again.
"Don't go that way!" The worm warned.
"What? Why?" Kaka asked.
"Just don't go that way. NEVER go that way."
Kaka looked down the right side of the opening. "Oh, uh. . . . thanks!" He walked out of view, behind the wall.
The worm sighed. "Should of kept on going the way you were. Would of gone straight to that castle."
. . .
Kaka turned passed a stone wall and spun around another. He slid his hand across the wall at he passed. The Saiyan looked left, then right, and decided to go right. In the distance he could hear the faint crying of a baby girl. "Sashra. . . I'm coming," Kaka whispered.
. . .
Vegeta held the baby girl in his arms and rocked her on his knee. She stopped crying and began to giggle. "Perhaps I'll keep her. She's not as bad as Kakarott made her out to be. She's even got my eyes." He said. He smiled at Sashra and cradled her. The baby's eyes slowly closed as she fell asleep in the prince's arms.
Vegeta looked up at the clock. He handed the baby to a maid near him and propped his feet up on the arm of his chair. He began to tap his boot in time with the ticking clock. 'Kakarot is a smart boy. He may just be smart enough to get to the center of the labyrinth.' Vegeta thought, still tapping his boot. He looked around the room filled with servants and other saiyans, some drunk, some just acting stupid to get attention. A few other alien forms over took the small sitting area that was cut into the center of the floor. He got up and walked out of the throne room. The smell of sweaty men and raw spirits and other alcohols almost made him sick. Vegeta kicked a drunken soldier out of his way. "Why are you fools always under boot when I walk?" He spat at him. The soldier only laughed in response.
He turned left and headed out to a near by balcony. He hopped up and sat on the edge with his legs extended out in front of him, leaning his arm on his knee and looking out at the labyrinth that encircled his massive castle. "Even with the finest that this place has to offer, it means nothing." He said to himself. Thinking of how wonderful it would be to have Kaka as his mate so they could rule his kingdom together.
Far behind him, Vegeta could hear music and singing coming from the throne room. He sighed and took a long look down at the labyrinth where he knew is crush was at that moment, then he hopped back down and headed to his room. He was tired and had a slight head-ache. 'I need to rest.' He thought.
. . .
Kaka came around a corner and spun around, not knowing which way to go. He dug in his pocket and found a piece of chalk. He held it out in front of his faced, then looked toward the ground. Kaka knelt down and put an arrow on a tile that pointed the way he was heading. 'this will help.' He turned on his heal and walked forward. The young saiyan came to another cross way and headed left. He put another small arrow on the ground.
