F. candida (Willem) is a blind, non-pigmented cosmopolitan
soil dwelling collembolan species that has regularly been used to
examine the effects of pollutants and pesticides on soil arthropods
(Eijsackers 1975; Usher and Stoneman 1977; Subaja and Snider
1981; Moore and de Ruiter 1993; Hopkin 1997; Moore et al. 2000;
Fountain and Hopkin 2005).
