Consequently, the Huay Phak Phai Royal Project was initiated under the royal command in 1980, and “Huay Phak Phai Royal Project Development Center” was established on the total area of 81 Rai. The Center is granted a permission to improve the condition of a devastated forest which spreads over 1,200 Rai, and to alleviate the locals’ poverty problem. There are 32 families or 1,766 people in 3 villages under the responsibility of the Center, namely Mae Ha village (Moo 3), Mae Ha village (Moo 5) and Pang Yang village (Moo 6).The main roles of the Huay Phak Phai Royal Project Development Center cover eliciting data, conducting research and breeding various kinds of roses, particularly Royal Rose which are planted along the mountain slopes. The Center possesses not only the largest collection of different varieties of roses, but also Chayote leaves and fruits, aubergines , bush beans, and bitter gourds. The best time to visit is between October and February.
