The experimental design was completely randomized, with
one group treated with a diet supplemented with Bacillus spp.
(1.15 × 104 CFU·g−1) and the control group, all in quadruplicate. The
water in the tanks was changed daily at a rate of 50%, for the removal
of food debris, feces and seedlings. The shrimps fromeach experimental
unit were fed four times a day (8:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 17:00) using
feeding trays with 6% of the biomass of each tank. After 1 h, the remainder
of the feed was verified, and feeding adjustments were recalculated
according to the rate of consumption.
