Organic production, as defined by the USDAs Organic Food Production Act of 1990 as amended (U.S.C. 6501
et seq,) is a ‘production system that is managed in accordance with the Act and associated regulations to
respond to site-specific conditions by integrating cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that foster
cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity’.
