The average values of weight and height for boys and girls are displayed in Table V. Table VI shows mean, standard deviation and the percentile 50 values for both sexes and by age along with the reference values (Cole et al. 2000). The prevalence of overweight was 26% and the prevalence of obesity 12% in both sexes, exceeding the values observed in samples from Spain and other countries of children without visual discapacity (Herna ´ndez 1988, Montero de Espinosa and Marroda ´n 2003, Gyenis et al. 2004). Differences in BMI values were not observed as a function of remaining vision or of the capacity to move indoors or outdoors for the all sample nor by ages as seen in Tables VII–IX.
