Persuasive writing is a form of formal writing that deals with mainly one side of a story. In effect, a persuasive piece is only concerned with convincing the reader that the side taken in the writing itself is the side to believe. Don’t be fooled into thinking that a persuasive piece only deals with one side of the argument however – many persuasive pieces will take into account some of the arguments from the other side of the debate, albeit in little less detail than the argument the author is trying to sell.
