Jack Frost
The legend of Jack Frost came from Norse mythology. His other names are Father Frost, Old Man Winter, and Jokul Frosti which means Icicle Frost. He is traditionally said to leave the frosty, fern-like patterns on windows and nipping the extremities in cold weather. He is sometimes described with paint brush and bucket coloring the autumnal foliage red, yellow, brown, and orange.
Jack Frost is said to be happy-go-lucky, and whimsically decorates the world for us in wintry shades with utter happiness. However. If you anger him, he might just suffocate you to death with snow.
Starting in late 19th century literature, more filled-out characterizations of Jack Frost have made him into a sprite-like character. He sometimes appears as a sinister mischief maker or as a hero.
