Fig. 5 shows the breakthrough curves of the eroded
bentonite particles eluted from the fractured granite
column as a function of the total eluted volume of the
groundwater at different flow rates. As shown in Fig. 5,
the concentration of the eroded bentonite particles is
very high at an early elution time, and then the
concentration is gradually reduced to a constant value
as the total eluted volume of the groundwater increases.
Fig. 5 also shows that the concentration of the eroded
bentonite particles increases with an increasing flow
rate.
