Running for 1.5 km and outfitted with accommodation from end to end, Chai Khong Road is the centre of tourism in Chiang Khan. The stretch from Wat Si Khun Mueang at Soi 7 to Wat Tha Khok at Soi 20 is the busiest, with a handful of guesthouses that have traditionally welcomed foreign travellers located towards the east.
Much wider and busier in terms of motorised traffic, but with fewer hotels, Sri Chiang Khan Road serves as the town's commercial hub. You'll find no shortage of banks, ATMs, convenience stores and other local businesses, including several hole-in-the-wall restaurants. ATMs are also scattered around Chai Khong.
