The inspection of production items is carried out visually, through which defect types and its sources are identified.
The defect type of under-spray and paint-run are something that can be attributed to the setup of the robot machine or to an operating fault. Fiber, inclusion, warped, scratched, and pinhole defects can be attributed to human actions, cleanliness of the air in the shopfloor, or to defects coming from a supplier. The effect can be quantified by an estimation of the probability for a defect to occur. This is achieved by the use of real data from actual operations, which can then be used to count the frequency of an individual defect or total defects on a timely basis; the probabilities can then be calculated based on
the collected data.
