TPDM Principles
Ideally a new bus stop should be located:
at or near a point where pedestrian routes or paths to or
from the generation points of bus trips tend to converge
where the stop is unlikely to be detrimental to road safety
and where disruption and delay to other traffic will be
minimized; and
away from residential and other sensitive frontages
where noise and disturbance are undesirable.
Note: in a congested urban environment ideal sites will be
difficult to find and compromise will be necessary to find
a suitable location - but never compromise safety.
