On the other hand, the feed intake of chickens fed the control diet was relatively lower than expected. This might be attributed to the composition of the diet as the CF content was relatively high because of increased levels of Noug cake (Guizotia abyssinica) and wheat bran. The low body weight observed in the control group might be attributed to the decreased energy intake as a result of reduced feed consumption. Chickens fed on T2, T3 and T4 diets recorded higher body weight values than those in the control diet and this is consistent with those reported by Ayssiwede et al. (2011) for chickens fed with Moringa oleifera leaf meal.
