The water was still.
It was evening and the tall cedar(whatever kind of ) trees cast their reflection on the water on the west side of the lake making a dark silhouette against the blue.
When the wind blows the suns reflection makes the ripples glimmer.
A fish breaks the surface of the water and churns it slightly interupting my daydream, I look up and see the top of the sun,
a semi circle of a giant disk being lowered behind a forested hill.
A sailboat glides slowly between my small row boat and the opposite shore. heading for the public landing at the park near the south end of this tranquil body of water.
About ten feet from the shore where I am are lilly pads and some water lillies coming up about 3 inches from the top of the water. In the midst of the lilly pads is a log where a turtle is sitting. Aware of my presense but not alarmed.
It is Autum, about mid October and a flock of geese are settling in for the night near the inlet to a small stream that supplies fresh water to this otherwise spring fed lake.
Hope this helps!
