The Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR) through its Division of Mental Health,
Developmental Disabilities, and Addictive Diseases (MHDDAD) is responsible for publicly
funded mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases services within the state.
It is the responsibility of MHDDAD’s seven Regional Offices located throughout the state to
identify consumer needs and plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate services for all publicly
supported hospital and community services in the MHDDAD system. There is a single point of
entry in each region to assess needs and eligibility for non-educational services.
