3.2. Antibacterial activity of crude extract
 Antibacterial potential of seaweed extracts obtained using different organic solvents was investigated by measuring the inhibition zone created in microbial culture. Inhibition zone is the distance between the edge of the filter paper disc (containing extract) and the region where the microbes' growth pattern appears. Table 2 depicts zone of inhibition (mm) of crude solvent extracts against four micro-organisms.
