Sampling
Environmental samples (non depurated mussels), were taken
from different mussel harvesting areas from June to October 2013.
Overall, 17 different spots were analyzed in Arosa; 4 in Vigo and 6 in
Pontevedra. A higher number of samples were analyzed from Arosa
since this is the Ria with the highest percentage of rafts (floating
structures commonly used for mussel cultivation, and called
“batea” in this Spanish region. Lines of rope are seeded with young
mussels and suspended vertically) in Galicia (68.68%) http://www.
