Parent Confi dence
The analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that the
main effects of time (p = . 0 94), group (p = . 6 69), a nd
interaction ( p = .077) on parent confidence were not
significant for pretest versus 1 week postintervention,
pretest versus 8 weeks postintervention, or 1 week
versus 8 weeks postintervention. Although there was
no statistical significance, there was an overall trend
toward significance among participants in the inter-ven t io n group. Wh en comp aring parental belief s cores
from 1 week to 8 weeks after transition t o home, mean
scores for parental belief in the intervention group
increased from 71.82 to 79.09 and decreased in the
usual care group from 78.64 to 69.64.
