2. Senior Location Manager(s)
Has responsibility for the health and safety of all HGST employees assigned to that location (including employees in sub-offices, and off-site locations). These responsibilities include:
a. Implementing corporate health and safety instructions
b. Complying with HGST standards and regulatory requirements
c. Ensuring the appropriate level of support and resources exists for implementation and execution of location health and safety programs
d. Ensuring that all managers fulfill their responsibilities in implementing health and safety programs
e. Authorizing deviations and adaptations from established HGST health and safety standards
1.2 Training
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this program is to provide health and safety training, appropriate to the task, for all employees and managers, including workers assigned to new positions.
REQUIRED PROGRAM ELEMENTS
1. Provision of required health and safety information, including instruction in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), protective devices (e.g. emergency eye wash/showers) and emergency procedures (e.g. evacuation, emergency reporting) to workers before they start a new work assignment or have potential new exposures.
2. Required training materials should be either provided or reviewed by the health and safety organization to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness.
a. Training records kept for each individual receiving formal health and safety instruction. Records should include subject, date, and trainee’s name. ,.
b. Records kept for completion of on-the-job training required for specific classes of training. For example, “certified,” “qualified,” or licensed operators.
c. Records kept for as long as an individual is assigned to the task or according to Worldwide Record Management (WRM), or until superseded by records of more current training.
d. WRM (or country government) requirements followed after employee job changes.
