The leaves beneath her feet crunched as she stepped on them, but leaves that continued to fall replaced the broken ones easily, some littering into her brilliant pink hair. He gave a nod, and then realizing she couldn’t see, he murmured a quiet ‘yes.’
A few leaves were brilliant red, almost matching his hair and eye, and some others a golden yellow. And when he looked to her again, Momoi had stopped spinning, was walking towards him holding two leaves. She held them up and for a moment they covered his eyes, but Akashi waited until she lowered them, smiling in a way that had even the redhead smiling.
"Autumn," she said, "is the only time when the leaves are vibrant enough to match your eyes."
His smile relaxed and he gave a small laugh, the driest of them.
