The major objectives of this paper were to: ( I ) find
mathematical models to perform modeling, simulations,
and analysis, (2) solve the motion control problem for
high-performance electric microdrives with synchronous
reluctance micromotors, (3) develop the test-bed
(micromotor - IC convertericontroller), (4) test and
validate the results. It is demonstrated that the performance
of closed-loop microdrives depends upon mathematical
models used in design of control algorithms. Therefore,
complete mathematical models of synchronous reluctance
motors were developed, and the electromagnetic features
were applied to design control laws. Different controllers
were tested to demonstrate the efficiency and validity of
the modeling and control paradigms proposed.
