The expression levels of the CDC10 gene were signifi-
cantly higher in the high growth performance steer group
than in the low growth performance steer group, based on
CWT (P = 0.0122) and RT (P < 0.0001), by Student’s t-test.
No significant difference in the CDC10 expression levels was
detected between high and low growth performance steergroups based on REA (P = 0.3376). However, expression
profiles of the CDC10 gene in high and low growth
performance steer groups based on REA showed a trend
similar to those of CWT and RT (Fig. 1a). This result
suggests association of the CDC10 expression levels with
growth-related traits. Post-natal muscle growth results from
new myofibrillar bundles added along the length of the
