RE: INTENTION TO REPORT TO IMMIGRATION
Dear Apiwat,
You enrolled in the General English Course at North Sydney English College on 18/04/2016 and will be completing your studies on 10/07/2016. It is mandatory, in terms of your visa requirement that you maintain an attendance of at least 80%, as required by Australian law for holders of student visas (the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000).
You were sent a letter of warning on 19/05/2016 advising you that according to North Sydney English College’s records your attendance had dropped below the requirement, and asking you to contact North Sydney English College urgently to discuss the reasons for your absences. We also warned you that North Sydney English College would be obliged to report you to the Department of Immigration if your attendance did not improve.
It appears, you have not taken the necessary action to improve your attendance, and at this stage of your course you will be unable to meet the 80% attendance requirement. It is therefore our intention to report you to the Department of Immigration for poor attendance.
If you do not agree with this decision, you may appeal against it. You have 20 working days from the date of this letter to make your appeal. During this time, and while your appeal is being considered, you must attend all classes.
If you wish to discuss this matter, please contact the student services department at the college.
Kind regards,
Annette Forbes
