First Non-Sony Vaio Notebooks Launched in Japan
When Sony sold off its Vaio-branded PC range earlier this year, we knew that an independent company would be taking over the VAIO branding. Less than six months later, Vaio is back as an independent "small PC maker". The company's recently launched website states that "it's free and that things are going to change."
However, it doesn't look like that change will be happening any time soon as the company's two debut models, the Vaio Pro and Vaio Fit are exactly the same as the Sony-branded models that were released last year. It also seems that Vaio has no plans to sell notebooks outside of Japan for now, with a spokesperson saying that its focusing on success in Japan first.
