In DLLME procedure, a suitable disperser solvent must be
miscible in both organic (extraction solvent) and aqueous
(sample solution) phase as well as forming a cloudy phase
when injected with a selected extractant solvent into an
aqueous solution.
In order to find a better dispersing agent, methanol, ethanol,
acetonitrile and acetone were used as disperser solvent. A
series of sample solutions were examined by using 3 mL of
each disperser solvent containing 200 mL of carbon tetrachlo-
ride. Responses obtained from these dispersers showed no
significant differences between them; however, acetone was
selected as disperser solvent because of its low toxicity and
low cost
