General Information:
On November 30, 2012, the Ministry of Health (MOH) issued Circular No.27/2012/TT-BYT, referred at
Circular 27 in this report, regarding Guidance on the Management of Food Additives. Circular 27
promulgates the list of 400 food additives, coded by International Numbering System (INS) (Appendix
1), allowed for use in food, and proscribes the maximum limit for those additives in food products
(Appendix 2). The Circular entered into force on February 1, 2013.
