6. Conclusions and future work
To incorporate AR in the general technology curriculum for high schools, we developed a teaching scheme for creative design. The
individual creativity and environmental components were used as references, and Keller's ARCS motivational model provided the basis of
our design strategy. To explain the creative design theme, we designed a teaching scheme that stimulated students' creative design learning
motivation, and developed a virtual animated character to explain the creative design case. We also developed “AR Creative-Builder” to
allow high school students to express their creative ideas without programming skills. Students could superimpose their 3D models and
explanatory audio into real scenes without programming, as well as importing background music, thereby building an effective AR scene. To
investigate the impacts of the AR technology and teaching scheme on a general technical creative design course in a high school, we
performed a pilot study in RDFZ.
